How OurTab works — the household loop

Most household apps do one segment: a list, or a calendar, or a way to split a bill. OurTab joins them into a loop, because in a real house they were never separate.

1. Shop

One shared list both of you can add to from anywhere. When the shopping arrives, you don't retype it: paste the text of your supermarket order and OurTab reads it — every product, the price actually paid including offers and loyalty pricing, and the quantities. A 53-item order lands in a few seconds.

2. Stock

What you bought becomes what you have. The list doesn't end at the checkout — items move into a live inventory, so "do we already have passata?" has an answer that isn't a phone call from aisle four. Mark things finished as you use them, or rename a substitution when the supermarket sends something else.

3. Cook

AI Chef suggests meals from what is actually in the house tonight, not from a generic recipe database. Plan the week, and it tells you which ingredients you already have and which need adding to the list — closing the loop back to step one. Ask it for a recipe, tell it what you used, and the inventory keeps up.

4. Split

Every shop can post itself to a shared ledger as an expense, split the way your household actually splits things. OurTab tracks who paid separately from who consumed, so one person doing the big shop doesn't quietly become one person funding the house. Each expense is frozen at the split agreed on the day, so history can never shift.

And the rest of the week

Because the household is already in there, OurTab also carries the admin that surrounds it: a shared task diary with recurring jobs, standing chores that balance themselves across whoever is actually home, a work planner that understands shift patterns, and a meal plan for the week ahead. A morning notification tells you what's on your plate today.

Built for two people, not a team

OurTab is designed for the household — a couple, a flatshare, a family. One person creates the household, everyone else joins with an invite code. There is no per-person charge, no seat count, and no admin tier.
